Software Test Analyst

Responsibilities

Summary
Participate in testing of all designated software applications. Responsibilities include validating functionality and reporting test results.

Conduct system testing for new product implementations and system production changes
Execute test plans
Record and publish test results. Assist with evaluating results and identifying defects
Provide written status reports
Review test plans written by others
Suggest ways to improve test plans
Participate in audit projects as assigned
Logging of defects found

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university

0-3 years testing experience

Insurance industry related experience is preferred; Insurance processing system experienced preferred

Must have average verbal and written communications with a strong team orientation

Ability to read, analyze data, and interpret general business correspondence, periodicals and professional journals is required

Must be able to write reports and document test results

Ability to collaborate with developers to improve software quality

Experience with Microsoft Windows required. Thorough knowledge proficiency in using PC databases, spreadsheets and word processing

Experience using legacy and web applications

Understanding of basic programming concepts

Ability to record test actions with an automation tool with minimal direction

Ability to write simple SQL queries

Understanding of basic web architecture.

I Series or Mainframe experience preferred

Must be able to follow test plans from written specifications, gather test data, execute systematic tests and produce written results of findings

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Ability to determine if testing requirements are complete enough to perform a proper test

Ability to utilize people and resources to quickly determine solutions to common testing problems

Job level 4 or 5, to be determined
