Director of Marketing


Responsibilities

Summary

Responsible for growth and development of National Interstate’s mainland commercial product

  • Achieve sales objectives in the National Accounts, Truck Transportation, Passenger Transportation, and American Highways Insurance Agency departments
  • Achieve profit objectives in the American Highways Insurance Agency department
  • Identify and develop new alternative risk programs
  • Effectively train and manage sales, marketing, and business development people to enable them to achieve their individual performance objectives
  • Manager of internal staff
  • Will have an impact on budgeting, controlling costs, and procedural change

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a major in business or marketing is strongly preferred
  • MBA or graduate degree in related fields is a plus
  • Insurance designation(s) is a plus
  • 10 or more years of Commercial Lines, General Management, and/or Marketing/Sales Management with a track record of superlative results
  • Fluency in prevailing technologies, metrics, and practices necessary to successfully achieve the company’s corporate growth and profitability objectives
  • Highly qualified executive-level sales and product manager experience
  • Previous supervisory experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and responding to questions from internal and external sources
  • Thorough knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point, and Statistical Analysis Packages
  • Ability to write reports and effectively present information to a variety of groups of people
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data from a variety of sources and to simplify multi-variable data into direct, tangible business discussions
  • Strong analytical skill set. Must be able to formulate analysis plans and gather, analyze, summarize, and present large quantities of performance data
  • Ability to solve complex problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to travel 70-80% of the time
