Commercial Lines Support Representative


Responsibilities

Summary

The Commercial Lines Support Representative will provide overall general administrative support to various departments including Underwriting, Loss Control and the various Marketing divisions.

  • Represent department in all forms of communications, internally and externally.
  • Answers and routes all incoming department communication, including phone calls, mail and e-mails.
  • Opens/Picks-up and routes incoming mail, faxes, and e-mail, and answers routine and assigned correspondences.
  • Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail, mail and faxes. Data entry responsibilities.
  • Assist with general administrative duties for Agency Marketing Manager.
  • Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
  • Assist and support general needs of departments.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1-2 years prior office experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of PC’s, including databases, work processing and spreadsheets.
  • Typing 50 wpm, good organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations, using excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs especially Word and Excel, and including proficiency working with spreadsheets, internet and on-line services. Power Point a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
