Senior Accountant- Investments

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, tables for financial reporting, and other financial reports, focusing primarily on the Company’s investment portfolio
• Assist in providing reports for use by the Board of Directors, Investment Manager, or for inclusion in other financial statements that are prepared for the Company’s use
• Maintain and update the investment system for all applicable transactions during the month
• Support the review, analysis, and implementation of new investment or fair value guidance relating to investments
• Identify trends and developments and communicates them to management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from a four-year college or university
• 2-4 years of experience in investments in an accounting role
• A solid, demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts
• Ability to organize, self-prioritize, and be a self-starter in a fast-paced environment with demanding internal and external deadlines
• Detail-oriented with high competency for identifying trends and detecting errors
• Database, spreadsheet, and word processing knowledge required
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present findings in a clear, concise manner
• Thorough knowledge of GAAP/SEC and Statutory Insurance accounting methods, principles, procedures, and requirements of accounting systems
